Lucius would give credit, but it's easier to take.

The month begins anew, and I know I am not alone in feeling a sense of hopelessness for all that has transpired tonight. I consider myself fortunate to have known our Minister before his passing tonight, and to have known how much he dedicated his life to his post. It is on this that I ask everyone to reflect, discarding any political disagreements you may have held with him.
I would also ask that his family, the wife and daughter whom he has left behind, be kept in everyone's thoughts. There are none among us that know the great loss our world has suffered today as they do.
My condolences, as well, to the family of Auror John Dawlish. Many can attest to his last act being of unsurpassed nobility and courage. Let not his devotion be slighted, nor his sacrifice overlooked.
Perhaps we begin November with this harrowing news, but in these trying times, it is crucial to remain optimistic. As difficult as this may seem, bear in mind those such as our late Minister Rump and Auror Dawlish. As they have given themselves to the preservation of our society, our culture, and our safety, so it is upon us all to see that they have not given themselves in vain.

While I understand that our law enforcement department has just reason to verify records, I do not recall that being an open invitation to use the confidential information on those records for whatever personal investigations an Auror - or Hit Wizard, as it may be - has decided to conduct. I am absolutely appalled, and I would not raise this issue if not for worrying that my family is only one of the victims of such unwarranted, unprofessional harassment.
As much as I would love to entertain our honourable Minister with praise of the aforementioned department when I next meet with him, I fear I am coming up short of compliments in this moment.

Death Eaters:Would it not be a smarter idea to allow the Minister's son to live so that he can continue to make a mockery of his father and the Aurors? He's more a help to us alive than dead at the moment. When his use has nearly expired, then perhaps would be the time to talk about arranging a farewell for him. For now? Let him talk.

Death Eaters and Supporters: I regret that I feel this is necessary to write, as I would be only too glad to give you all more credit for being possessed of the good sense to refrain from use of these journals such that it reflects poorly not only on all of us, but our Lord as well. However, I am not certain this is occurring to some of our number.
There is a secure network through which we may converse on these journals. Do use it. If you do not need to contend with the scores of lesser population or cannot without lowering yourselves to their level, then take the blessing and do not.
I also do not believe I need to impress that no one should be giving any of Mr McKinnon's group a reason to start mucking about our business, but, no less, consider this as a reminder. These next few days promise to be eventful, and I would advise against being the one responsible for ruining the plans by mouthing off to the wrong people. Narcissa Malfoy: I could use a few reassuring words about tomorrow, darling.
